Heart wrenching accident on Manki NH66 kills 3

Bhatkal: Three people riding on a bike were killed on the spot in a heart wrenching accident that happened on Anantwadi NH66 near Manki in Honnavar taluk on Tuesday afternoon, August 14. The accident happened when bike got exploded after being hit by a speeding passenger tempo. The deceased were riding on a bike during the accident.

According to the reports from the spot, the deceased include three siblings, who were identified as Abhishek Vivek Naik (22) of Kumta, Sangeetha Timappa Gowda (16) and Sandeep Timappa Gowda (12) of Anantwadi.

It is reported that the victims were heading towards Manki from Murdeshwar when their two-wheeler had an horrific collision with a tempo, which was going towards Bhatkal from Honnavar. The force of collision was such that the fuel tank of the bike exploded, which resulted the victims to sustain critical burn injuries and succumb to it on the spot.

The entire scene of incident was heart wrenching where it was seen the bike burning besides the road, while the dead bodies were fallen on the highway. 

As the information was alerted, Manki police personnel rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to Manki govt hospital for post mortem. Case has been registered in Manki police station and driver of the tempo has been detained.

Police said that they are investigating the case.
