Accidental fire turns truck into ashes on Kumta NH 66

Kumta: A truck fully loaded with medicines, chocolates and other chemical products, was completely turned to ash, after it accidentally caught fire. The incident was reported near Maneer in Kumta NH66 on 14th January, Saturday. 

The driver reportedly noticed the fire soon after it started and stopped the vehicle on a side of the highway. The locals immediately rang-up for fire brigade, and fire brigade rushed to the spot on time and were successful in extinguishing the fire, but were helpless in saving the loaded products.

The lorry was headed towards Manipal from Mumbai. Loss of products is estimated to be in several lakhs of rupees.

In this regard, a case has been registered in Kumta police station.
