Bhatkal: The residents of Magdoom colony took Bhatkal Municipality engineer and contractor to task after the road construction work in the region was noticed of the substandard level, and protested demanding to launch a scientific method for the development of roadwork. They intervened during the work and stopped from proceeding.

The protestors urged that the road, which should have been constructed for three inches, is being constructed for only half inch depth with several places left unfilled with Tar coal. They suspected that if construction of road proceeds in this method, the road would create potholes in the first rain of the season.

The shocking was that this road is constructed near to the house of municipality chief.

Reacting to the protest, Municipality engineer Umesh Madival tried to satisfy by explaining the protesters that the fund will be released to the contractor only after the final report of road work is submitted to higher officials.

On this occasion Municipality councillor Abdur Raheem along with local residents Sami Ullah, Yaseen Tahir, Abdus Sami Medical and others were present.
