Bhatkal: Grand rally held to encourage people to cast vote in upcoming elections

Bhatkal: Bhatkal Assistant Commissioner Sajid Ahmed Mulla flagged off a voter awareness rally in Bhatkal on Wednesday.

The rally which began from Anjuman Islamia Anglo Urdu High School ground passed through the Old Bus Stand, Main road, Shamshuddin Circle, Bunder Road, VT road and ends at Anjuman ground.

The jatha had been organised by Election Commision of India, District Adminstartion and the District Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme committee. Various folk art troupes also participated in the rally and drew the attention of the people. Students, Asha workers, local people, physically challenged people also participated in large number.

The students carried placards with various messages conveying the importance of exercising the right to franchise.

The Assistant commissioner, Tahshildar, Taluka panchayat CEO, Block Education Officer and other officers who walked with the procession distributed pamphlets in shops creating awareness about exercising franchise among the people. They even appealed street-side vendors, vehicle drivers, pedestrians and others to cast their vote without fail during the coming Lok Sabha elections.
