Bhatkal Chartered Accountant among Forbes’ top 50 Indian Executives in The Arab World 2017

BHATKAL: It is a matter of great pride that a son of the soil has made it to the  list of Top 50 Indian Executives in The Arab World 2017 released recently by Forbes Middle East. Mushtaq Masood (aka SM Syed Mushtaq), Group CFO of Dubai Investments PJSC, by virtue of his hard work, integrity and talent has been ranked 42ndin the list of Top 50 Indian Executives in The Arab World 2017.

He hails from the renowned Moulana business family who are the manufacturers of famous Moulana Lungies. He is the son of S.M. Syed Masood Moulana, partner in Metalex Agencies in Ernakulam and director of Moulana Lungies. Mushtaq is a chartered accountant by profession.

Mushtaq Masood is the Group CFO of Dubai Investments PJSC, a diversified conglomerate listed on Dubai Financial Market with interests in the financial, industrial and real estate sectors. He joined Dubai Investments in 2008 and is responsible for overall financial strategy and is also involved in investment activities across the Group. He has worked on enhancing the Group’s debt profile through execution of several landmark transactions while also keeping an eye on effective fund management. He is on the Board of Directors of Al Mal Capital PSC, a multi-line investment company which is a subsidiary of Dubai Investments. 

Mushtaq completed his education in Ernakulam where he graduated in commerce from St. Alberts College and then enrolled for articleship with a local audit firm. He qualified as a chartered accountant in 1989 and soon came to Dubai where he started off with the auditing firms of Arthur Young and Arthur Andersen.

He moved to Abu Dhabi in 1992 where he worked in internal audit for Adnoc Distribution, a leading petroleum company. In 1999 he switched to Finance by joining the Cupola Group and later on Abraaj Capital, which is one of the largest private equity firms in the MENA region. At Abraaj, he was appointed as CFO of a portfolio company where he was actively engaged in its growth and successful divestment post which he got an opportunity to work with Dubai Investments.
