Asadullah outclassed Lion to lift 'YMSA NGT-Bhatkal Trophy' championship title in the final

Bhatkal: A dominant Asadullah Sports Association stamped their authority with a crushing 5-wicket win over Lion Sports Center in the final match of the YMSA NGT-Bhatkal T20 Trophy at taluka stadium, Bhatkal on Sunday.

Winning the Toss, Lion opted to bat first gearing up the inning score 172 with fall of 6 wickets in 20 overs, while Asadullah managed to bang the target score hitting 173 with fall of 5 wickets in 19.4 overs.

Asadullah, batting second, had lost its two major wickets in first over, while in the third over it lost another wicket having only 9 runs. All first three wickets were claimed by Anas Mulla with first over being maiden. It was Ritesh-Asjad 81-run partnership which came up as the boosting display to the team. Nevertheless, after the fall of 5th wicket, Asjad-Uzair partnership guided team Asadullah to hit target score 173 to knock Lion to gain championship title.

Asjed Hyder scored a blistering 80 runs off 54 deliveries and was declared Man of the Final for his contribution.

Winning team was awarded a Trophy and a cash prize of 66,666 INR, while runners-up received a cash prize of 44,444 INR with the trophy.

Other awards declared at the closing ceremony included player of the tournament which was awarded to Ikrama Motia, while the fair play award for discipline team of the tournament was bagged by Manki NSA. Ritesh Bhatkal of Asadullah and Ikrama Motia of Lion managed to take up orange cap and purple cap respectively.

Cricket lovers in huge number gathered in the stadium witnessing the final match cheering their respective teams.

In the ceremony vice-president of Karnataka Sports Authority Mir Roshan Ali, Bhatkal constituency MLA Mankal Vaidya, Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation president Imtiyaz Udyawar, secretary Naseef Khalifa, Majlis-e-Islah Wa Tanzeem general secretary Altaf Kharuri, NGT chairman Ateequr Rahman Muniri, Uttar-Kannada sports director Gayatri, Mudassir Ikkery, Iqbal Suhel Javed amongst others were present.
