Amin Saifullah Bhatkal Cricket League-2018 begins: 12 teams to battle out this season

Bhatkal: The fourth edition of the Bhatkal Cricket League (BCL) T20 tournament returned to its home environs after a two-year gap with an eye-catching opening ceremony at the Taluka stadium (YMSA Ground), here at Ameenuddin Road in Nawayath Colony, Bhatkal on Wednesday, organized by Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation (BMYF).

Guest in the ceremony, Moulavi Abdul Ahad Fakardey Nadvi, Khateeb of Abuzar Juma Masjid Bhatkal, while addressing the gathering, asked the players in the tournament to play for improving health, to be strong and also for unity. "Young age is where a person can create his identity which will get sealed on him for the rest of his life. Hence, the youngsters should build their identity along the footsteps of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)", he added.

Cricket matches will begin from tomorrow, promising excitement and entertainment for the spectators for the next 20 days. 

Twelve teams owned by Bhatkali franchises are participating in the IPL-style league, with the inaugural match that will be played between Ramzani Challengers and RMS king in the Morning, while Nawayath Strikers and Dominators will be played in the afternoon. 

Meanwhile, Bhatkal Inter Football Association (BIFA) team members were felicitated with certificates and trophies for their best achievements in National Level All India Football Tournament where they had bagged runner-up. Anjuman PU students who had put their efforts for the success of auctions were also felicitated.

It shall be recalled that earlier this week, players' auction for BCL-2018 was held in enthusiastic manner as a total of 325 players had registered for the auction.

The ceremony was presided over by Imtiyaz Udyawar, President of Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation. 

The function began with the recitation of verses from the holy Qur'an by Mohiddin Ahmed Gawai, followed with Naat by Ali Azbaan Shareef, Secretary Moulavi Muhammed Hussain Jukaku welcomed the gathering and General Secretary Naseef Khalifa Spoke about the importance of organizing the tournament. Musaddique Ali Akbara delivered the vote of thanks. Executive member of BMYF, Mubasshir Hallare was the host of the event.

Crowd in Hundreds had flocked at the venue to witness this grand event ceremony.

On this occasion, Bhatkal TMC president Sadique Matta, Convenor of the BCL-2018 Umair Sayeed Ruknuddin, Nahid Kola, Moulana Irfan SM Nadvi, and many others were present.
