Mangaluru: Beltangady police nab POCSO suspect from six year old case

Mangaluru: The Beltangady police were successful in arresting an accused from a case filed six years ago and booked him under POCSO Act on 11th March, Sunday.

The arrested accused has been identified as Melvin D’souza alias Jeevan aka Mohammad Salman (32yrs).

Melvin was absconding since the last six years after a criminal case was registered against him at Bantwal police station in 2012 under POCSO.

The police, who had been gained intel about the suspect’s movements, immediately formed a team consisting of head constables and constables. The team tracked down Melvin and arrested him at Moodbidri.

He will be produced to the Second Additional Sessions Court in Mangalore.
