7 arrested for carrying tortoises illegally in Karwar

Karwar: Seven persons were arrested by the Forest officers on the charges of capturing tortoises in Heggarani forest area coming under Dongri gram panchayat limits in Ankola taluk and illegally transporting them. 


As many as 16 tortoises were rescued from them.

Police recovered an Auto rickshaw from the accused who were sent to judicial custody.
